Online advertising in this present day society depends mostly on Click-through rate (CTR). CTR is a means of determining the success of any advertisement. A CTR is calculated by dividing the “number of clicks on an ad” on any web page by the “number of times the ads was actually shown”. For example, if a banner was shown 100 times and was clicked just once, the CTR would be one percentage.

There are multiple ways to increase the click-through rate of any article.

1) You should aim at creating headlines which are attention grabbing. Visitors mostly read the headline of an article. The headline should aim at, “the basic purpose of the content of the article and its advantages.”

2) In the article’s body, you should try to expand the headline to try and keep the reader interested. Small paragraphs should be created to make the reading easier.

3) You should make your resource box as promising as possible. Products and/or services are offered in the resource box. You should offer a sample or a short survey of your product to receive the most clicks.

4) You should have anchor text included in the article. Normally two links are allowed in the resource box. The first link should contain your website’s address and the other link should be hyperlinked text.

The traditional advertisement process was very cumbersome and people used to have to wait for weeks or months for proper data. Adwords is one of the ways in the modern world that provides a lower rate for ads with high click through rate for advertisers. CTR signifies the fact that your ads are drawing people’s attention based on what they are searching. Once a user clicks your ad, he/she is directed to a landing page. The content of the landing page should be relevant to what the user is searching.

In the present business world, success depends upon whether or not your products and services are advertised in the right manner. Proper advertising in the right place is the first step which will lead the business towards success. To conclude, click-through rate can be considered as a way to find out the response to any advertisement.
